Employment Survey August 2021

In August, BPS held a National Employment Survey (Sakernas). This activity is routinely held by BPS twice a year, in February and August. Sakernas aims to obtain sustainable basic labor data in Indonesia. In August, data collection of 300,000 households will be carried out in 30,000 census blocks throughout Indonesia. In the city of Banjarmasin itself, data collection will be carried out on 648 households which are divided into 67 census blocks where these census blocks are spread across all sub-districts.

In addition to collecting basic employment data, Sakernas also collects the impact of COVID-19 on employment. In the data collection process, our officers have been provided with PPE in the form of masks. In addition, respondents will also be given masks to prevent transmission from both the enumerator and transmission from the respondent. Before conducting the enumeration, our officers had carried out an antigen test to prevent transmission during the Sakernas enumeration.
